    This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of breast cancer.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Appreciate the incidence, pathologic and molecular characteristics and clinical relevance of HER2-low breast cancer, and understand currently available management approaches.
    • Evaluate published research findings with established anti-HER2 agents for patients with HER2-low breast cancer.
    • Assess the biologic rationale for and available and emerging clinical trial data with trastuzumab deruxtecan for patients with HER2-low breast cancer to determine the current and potential utility of this therapeutic approach.
    • Recognize the spectrum, frequency and severity of treatment-emergent adverse events associated with trastuzumab deruxtecan, and develop strategies to monitor for, prevent and manage these complications.
    • Recall the design of ongoing clinical trials evaluating novel agents and strategies for HER2-low breast cancer, and counsel appropriate patients about availability and participation.
