CE Information and Faculty Disclosures

  • TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is intended for medical oncologists, hematologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other allied healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of breast cancer.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Evaluate recently presented clinical research findings to determine their effect on the current care of patients with localized or metastatic HER2-positive or triple-negative breast cancer.
    • Use published research data to guide the selection and duration of neoadjuvant, adjuvant or extended adjuvant therapy for patients with HER2-overexpressing localized breast cancer.
    • Review published research data supporting chemotherapy in combination with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies for patients with localized or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and use this information to make appropriate treatment recommendations.
    • Discuss available research findings establishing the efficacy of PARP inhibitors for localized and metastatic breast cancer (mBC) harboring BRCA mutations, and appropriately identify patients for treatment with these agents.
    • Implement a long-term clinical plan for the care of patients with metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer, incorporating existing and recently approved anti-HER2 therapies.
    • Evaluate published research findings guiding the selection and sequencing of available therapeutic agents for patients with metastatic TNBC.
    • Appreciate the incidence, characteristics and clinical relevance of HER2-low mBC, and understand available therapeutic approaches for patients with this subset of the disease.
    • Assess the mechanisms of action of, early data with, and ongoing clinical trials evaluating other novel agents and treatment strategies under development for localized and metastatic HER2-positive or triple-negative breast cancer.
