CE Information and Faculty Disclosures

  • TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematologists-oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Understand the biologic rationale for the development of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy as a targeted strategy to eliminate cancer cells, and recognize the similarities and differences among commercially available and investigational products.
    • Appreciate available efficacy and safety data with CAR T-cell therapies directed at CD19, and identify patients with relapsed/refractory large cell lymphomas for whom this approach may be appropriate.
    • Appraise the recent FDA approval of brexucabtagene autoleucel for patients with relapsed/refractory mantle cell lymphoma, and determine how to optimally integrate this agent into current treatment algorithms.
    • Recognize the adverse events associated with approved and investigational CAR T-cell therapies, and implement strategies to educate patients and manage complications.
    • Recall available clinical trial data and ongoing research evaluating CAR T-cell approaches in follicular lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and counsel appropriate patients regarding the potential benefits of trial participation.
