  This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of ovarian cancer and employment of tumor treating fields.
  
  LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Consider available clinical research with the use of PARP inhibitors as maintenance therapy after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer (OC), and counsel appropriate patients regarding treatment recommendations.
  • Assess available clinical trial data with and approved indications for FDA-endorsed PARP inhibitors for recurrent, platinum-sensitive and multiregimen-refractory OC to optimally incorporate these agents into patient care.
  • Appreciate the biologic rationale for and published clinical research with PARP inhibitors in combination with other systemic therapies, and consider the current and potential clinical and research implications of these findings for OC management.
  • Compare and contrast the toxicities associated with the various PARP inhibitors approved for OC, and offer supportive management strategies to minimize or ameliorate these side effects.
  • Describe the scientific rationale for tumor treating fields (TTFields) as a therapeutic approach for patients with OC, and appraise the available efficacy and safety data with TTFields in combination with chemotherapy for recurrent, advanced disease.
