CE Information and Faculty Disclosures

  • TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of urothelial bladder carcinoma (UBC).

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Recognize how biologic and patient-specific factors influence the selection and sequencing of treatment for patients with metastatic urothelial bladder carcinoma (UBC) who experience disease progression on immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.
    • Recall the mechanism of action, FDA approval and pivotal clinical trial findings with enfortumab vedotin for previously treated locally advanced or metastatic UBC, and identify patients for whom treatment with this novel agent would be appropriate.
    • Recognize the FDA approval of erdafitinib for patients with advanced UBC and susceptible FGFR3 or FGFR2 genetic alterations whose disease has progressed during or after at least 1 line of platinum-containing chemotherapy, and determine how this agent may be appropriately integrated into clinical practice.
    • Educate patients about the unique side effects associated with enfortumab vedotin and erdafitinib, and develop strategies to prevent, reduce or manage these toxicities.
    • Appraise ongoing studies evaluating novel agents and treatment strategies for metastatic UBC, and counsel patients regarding the potential benefits of trial participation.
