The following slide set details findings from a two-year educational initiative designed to define continuing education needs among practicing medical oncologists and hematologists by documenting their practice patterns with regard to the management of multiple myeloma. Forty-three US community-based medical oncologists provided anonymous information on presenting symptoms, diagnostic workup, treatment selection, side effects and clinical antitumor response for consecutive patients newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma in their practices.
The results of this study were presented as a poster at the 2010 American Hematologic Society annual meeting as well as documented in a supplement to the December issue of Oncology.
