CE Information and Faculty Disclosures

  • TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is intended for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of lung cancer.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Evaluate available data documenting the efficacy and safety of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody-based approaches as neoadjuvant, adjuvant or consolidation therapy for patients with nonmetastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
    • Consider recent therapeutic advances related to the use of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies as monotherapy or in combination with other systemic therapies for metastatic NSCLC, and discern how these approaches can be employed in the management of this disease.
    • Recognize the frequency with which patients with metastatic NSCLC experience disease progression on first-line immune checkpoint inhibitor-based therapy, and optimally select and sequence available later-line therapeutic options to maximize quality and quantity of life.
    • Appreciate the incidence of TROP2 expression in patients with progressive metastatic NSCLC, and recognize published and emerging clinical trial data with and ongoing studies of investigational antibody-drug conjugates directed at this emerging target.
    • Design an optimal approach to long-term clinical care for patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC), considering available clinical research findings and the implications of age, symptomatology and other relevant clinical factors.
    • Reflect on investigational agents and strategies currently in testing for NSCLC and SCLC, and, where applicable, refer eligible patients for clinical trial participation.
