QUESTION: Has anybody collated a series of unusual fractures in patients on long-term bisphosphonates?
DR NEIL LOVE: So, Steve, can you comment on the other question you were asking about fractures?
DR STEVEN HAGER: She developed a fracture of her metatarsal after about 2 years on — actually, a little over 2 years — on bisphosphonates. She was on zoledronic acid. And when I saw Dr James Berenson at a talk, he mentioned that he had a series of patients with similar fractures. And I thought it was very curious that unusual fractures occur after prolonged bisphosphonates. And he mentioned he was potentially going to publish it. So I was going to bring it up to the group to see if anybody else has had similar experiences.
DR JEFFREY WOLF: I’ve seen reports and heard from Jim and haven’t seen any myself.
DR JEFFREY ZONDER: Yes. That’s my experience as well.
