CE Information and Faculty Disclosures

  • TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Design and implement a plan of care for patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (MM), considering the applicability of existing and emerging clinical trial data.
    • Discuss research data informing the use of monoclonal antibody therapy directed at CD38 for patients with MM, and effectively identify whether and how this strategy should be integrated into clinical management.
    • Consider published research findings and other clinical factors in the best-practice selection, sequencing or combining of available therapeutic strategies in the nonresearch care of patients with relapsed/refractory MM.
    • Appraise recent data with the FDA-approved agent belantamab mafodotin for relapsed/refractory MM, and identify patients for whom this treatment may be appropriate.
    • Explore available data documenting the activity of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy and bispecific T-cell engagers designed to target the B-cell maturation antigen, and use this knowledge to identify patients with MM who may be appropriate to receive these therapeutic approaches as part of clinical trials.
    • Assess recent data with the novel anticancer peptide-drug conjugate melflufen, and consider the potential role of this agent in the management of relapsed/refractory MM.
