  • TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of gynecologic cancers.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Consider available clinical research findings with PARP inhibitors as maintenance therapy after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer, and counsel appropriate patients regarding personalized treatment recommendations.
    • Appreciate the biologic rationale for and published clinical trial data with PARP inhibitors in combination with other systemic therapies, and consider the clinical and research implications for ovarian cancer management.
    • Review available and emerging data with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies for patients with microsatellite instability-high and microsatellite-stable recurrent endometrial cancer, and appreciate ongoing research efforts to define the role of these agents in therapy for this disease.
    • Consider the recent FDA approval of and emerging Phase III data with pembrolizumab in combination with lenvatinib for patients with advanced endometrial cancer who have experienced disease progression after prior systemic therapy, and optimally integrate this novel regimen into clinical management algorithms.
    • Appraise the clinical research findings supporting the use of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 agents for metastatic cervical cancer (CC), and counsel appropriate patients about the risks and potential benefits of this approach.
    • Recognize the incidence of tissue factor expression in patients with CC, and consider published research findings with and the potential role of tisotumab vedotin in therapy for recurrent CC.
    • Recall recent results and ongoing clinical trials evaluating novel agents and strategies for gynecologic cancers, and counsel appropriate patients about participation in research opportunities.
