    This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematologists-oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs).

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Appraise the current role of ruxolitinib in the treatment of myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia, and integrate this agent into the clinical algorithm.
    • Appreciate the recent FDA approval of fedratinib for intermediate-2 or high-risk primary or secondary myelofibrosis, and identify patients for whom treatment with this agent is appropriate.
    • Recall the tolerability profiles of ruxolitinib and fedratinib, and formulate a side-effect management plan to support quality of life and continuation of treatment.
    • Appraise available and emerging research data with novel JAK inhibitors and other investigational strategies for myeloproliferative neoplasms, and refer eligible patients for trial participation.
