    This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Evaluate factors including comorbidities, personal preferences and side-effect profiles that contribute to the selection and sequencing of therapies for individuals with chronic-phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), and counsel patients regarding personalized treatment recommendations.
    • Implement a plan of care to recognize and manage side effects and toxicities associated with the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors and other systemic therapies in the treatment of CML to support quality of life and continuation of therapy.
    • Recall available research and ongoing trials evaluating novel strategies under investigation for patients with CML.
    • Evaluate recent clinical research findings documenting the efficacy of the STAMP inhibitor asciminib in patients with heavily pretreated chronic-phase CML and those with T315I mutations; consider the potential future role of this novel therapeutic agent.
