• TARGET AUDIENCE
  This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of oncology nurses, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists involved in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
  
  PURPOSE STATEMENT
  By providing information on the latest research developments in the context of expert perspectives, this NCPD activity will assist oncology nurses, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists with the formulation of state-of-the-art clinical management strategies to facilitate optimal care of patients with multiple myeloma.
  
  LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Appraise the scientific rationale for and mechanism of action of bispecific T-cell engaging antibodies for multiple myeloma (MM), and understand the similarities and differences between currently available and investigational agents in this class.
  • Develop an understanding of the current role of BCMA x CD3 and GPRC5D x CD3 bispecific antibodies in the management of relapsed/refractory MM, and reflect upon the current role of these treatments in the care of patients with this disease.
  • Understand the pathophysiology of cytokine release syndrome and neurologic toxicity associated with bispecific antibodies employed in the care of MM, and develop strategies to optimally identify and manage the symptoms of these side effects.
  • Recognize the spectrum, frequency and severity of other adverse events (eg, infections, cytopenias, dysgeusia) associated with available bispecific antibodies used in the care of patients with MM, and consider recommended approaches to prevent, ameliorate and manage these toxicities.
  • Appreciate the practical administration requirements associated with the use of bispecific antibodies for MM in order to appropriately educate eligible patients.

  Research To Practice (RTP) is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation.
