CE Information and Faculty Disclosures

  • TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is intended for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of lung cancer.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Convey the clinical relevance of a positive ALK testing result to patients with localized non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and establish an algorithm to most effectively identify disease harboring these abnormalities.
    • Assess the anticipated benefits, risks and long-term outcomes associated with available neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapeutic strategies for localized NSCLC with ALK alterations, and consider this information when counseling patients regarding current treatment recommendations.
    • Evaluate published clinical research data with ALK-directed therapy as adjuvant treatment for localized ALK-positive NSCLC, and identify patients for whom this approach may be warranted.
    • Recognize adverse events associated with ALK-directed therapy for patients with localized NSCLC, and understand the supportive strategies available to minimize and/or manage these toxicities.
